Here's how ordinary wrecking works: your car gets drained, stripped and crushed, and you're paid by weight. Scrap steel for a whole car usually lands between a couple of hundred and around a thousand dollars, depending on weight and the steel market that month. If your car is genuinely end-of-life, that is the honest answer, and we pay it properly with free pickup.
But plenty of cars sold to wreckers aren't end-of-life at all. They're just broken in ways a yard won't fix: blown gearbox, accident damage, dead engine. Our workshop repairs exactly those faults at trade cost, so the same car is worth more to us than to anyone who only weighs it. That's why every quote we give checks two numbers: scrap value and repair value. You get the higher one.

NSW RULES · KNOW WHERE YOU STAND
- NSW requires dealers buying vehicles from the public to hold a motor dealer licence. Selling to an unlicensed operator risks your payout and can leave the car in your name. Always ask for the licence number first.
- A statutory write-off can never be re-registered in NSW, no matter what anyone promises. Parts and metal value only. How the write-off rules work →
- End-of-life cars must be depolluted before crushing: fuel, oil, coolant and refrigerant recovered, batteries and tyres recycled. We do it properly, every car.
- Selling with plates on? We lodge the Notice of Disposal with you at pickup, so the car leaves your name the day it leaves.
