JUNK CARS

Cash for Junk Cars in Sydney: Yes, Even That One

The car you describe with an apology. Dead for two years, a window that won't close, and you're half-expecting us to laugh. We won't. Junk cars have honest value in metal, parts and (more often than you'd think) repair, and we pay it properly, with the tow free.

Battered white Toyota Corolla hatch with a cracked bumper on a Sydney driveway
Dead, damaged or done. Still worth money.

THE HONEST POSITION

Junk is a word other buyers use to lower your price. We price the car.

“Junk” usually means one of three things: mechanically dead (engine, gearbox or electrics gave up), crash-damaged beyond a panel shop's quote, or simply end-of-life and done. All three have a floor value in metal by weight, most carry parts value on top, and the catalytic converter alone can add fifty to a few hundred dollars. A straight buyer prices all of it openly instead of using the word “junk” to justify a lowball.

Here's the part that surprises people: a fair slice of the junk cars we collect get repaired and returned to the road by our own workshop, because the “terminal” fault was only terminal at retail labour rates. When that happens the car was never junk, and our offer reflects it. When it truly is end-of-life, we say so, pay honest metal-and-parts value, and depollute it properly: fluids, battery, refrigerant and tyres handled to NSW environmental rules.

One thing we don't buy is abandoned vehicles. We buy from owners, with ID and proof of ownership, every time. If a car isn't yours, NSW has a legal process for that (the Uncollected Goods Act) and it doesn't involve us. If it is yours, get a junk-car quote and turn the driveway ornament into cash.

If it truly is end-of-life, we pay honest value. If it isn't, we pay more.

NSW RULES · KNOW WHERE YOU STAND

  • Selling a junk car needs photo ID and proof of ownership. We buy from owners only, never abandoned vehicles. NSW's Uncollected Goods Act covers those, and it isn't a sale.
  • No rego, no plates, no roadworthy: all fine. If plates are on, we lodge the Notice of Disposal with you at pickup.
  • Depollution is the law before any car is crushed: fluids, battery and refrigerant recovered, tyres recycled. Done properly, every car.

WHY WE PAY MORE

A junkyard sees a crushed cube. Our workshop sees the fault that got it there, and whether fixing it beats crushing it.

Junk-car questions, straight answers

The floor is metal value by weight: usually a few hundred dollars, up to around a thousand or more for heavy vehicles, plus the catalytic converter, which can add fifty to a few hundred on its own. Above the floor sits parts and repair value, which is where we often beat junk prices. The quote is free and the number is real.

Yes, weekly. Seized brakes, perished tyres, flat battery, spiders in the mirrors: a standard collection for our drivers. The tow is free regardless, and we assess what the car is underneath the sitting, because plenty of long-parked cars are worth more than their owners assume.

Call us first. We buy from owners only and we need proof the car is yours, but rego papers aren't the only way to show that. What we never buy is abandoned vehicles; those belong to the NSW uncollected-goods process, not to a sale.
