Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern the purchase of vehicles by Salvage Experts ("we", "us", "our") and your use of this website. By requesting a quote or selling a vehicle to us, you agree to these terms.

[Legal review disclaimer. Do not publish this note on the site]

The following Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions are working drafts written for an NSW car-buying service and aligned with the Australian Privacy Principles. They are not legal advice. The business owner must have both documents reviewed by a qualified Australian lawyer before publishing, and confirm all business details (business name, address, phone) are correct.

Who we are

Salvage Experts, based in Kemps Creek NSW, purchases used, damaged, written-off, unregistered and unwanted vehicles from members of the public across Greater Sydney and, by arrangement, wider NSW. This website does not offer vehicles for sale.

Quotes

Quotes are provided free of charge and without obligation, based on the information you give us about your vehicle (including make, model, year, condition, history and photographs where supplied).

A quote is conditional on the accuracy of your description. When we attend to collect the vehicle, we will inspect it to confirm it matches the description provided. If the vehicle differs materially from that description, including undisclosed damage, missing parts, differing kilometres or incorrect vehicle details, we may revise or withdraw the offer. You are free to decline any revised offer, at no cost to you.

If the vehicle matches your description, the quoted price is the price we pay. We do not negotiate down on arrival for vehicles that have been accurately described.

Quotes are valid for 7 days from the date issued, after which we may re-quote to reflect market changes.

Ownership and authority to sell

You must be the legal owner of the vehicle, or have documented authority from the legal owner, to sell it to us.

At pickup you must provide photo ID and reasonable proof of ownership (e.g. registration certificate, purchase receipt, or other documentation we accept for unregistered vehicles. Contact us beforehand to confirm).

If the vehicle is under finance or otherwise encumbered, you must tell us before accepting a quote. Any payout or encumbrance must be resolved before or at the time of sale.

You warrant that the vehicle is not stolen and that the details you provide are true and complete.

Pickup and collection

Vehicle pickup and towing is provided free of charge within our Greater Sydney service area. Collection outside Greater Sydney is by arrangement and will be confirmed, including any conditions, before booking.

Same-day pickup is offered subject to availability, location and time of booking, and is not guaranteed.

You must provide reasonable access to the vehicle at the agreed time and location, and ensure it can be safely loaded (e.g. not blocked in, keys and documents available where applicable).

Risk in the vehicle passes to us upon collection and completion of the sale paperwork.

Payment

Payment is made at the time of collection by cash or instant bank transfer, as agreed. Where bank transfer is used, the transfer is initiated before the vehicle leaves your premises.

Payment is made to the legal owner or their authorised representative.

Paperwork and Notice of Disposal

We will complete the sale documentation with you at collection and submit a Notice of Disposal to Transport for NSW for the vehicle. You remain responsible for any fines, tolls or infringements incurred before the date and time of collection.

Where the vehicle is registered, you should remove your number plates if required by Transport for NSW for your circumstances (e.g. transferring plates to another vehicle). We will advise you at the time.

You are responsible for cancelling any remaining registration and claiming any rego refund you may be entitled to, where applicable. Ask us if you're unsure how this works for your situation.

Website use

Information on this website is general in nature. While we aim for accuracy, vehicle valuations are always subject to individual assessment as described in clause 2.

You must not misuse this website, submit false or misleading information, or submit quotes for vehicles you do not own or have authority to sell.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or our services.
